The Luminos.Law Fellowship Program is designed for attorneys who are new entrants into the legal workforce or are looking to transition into the world of AI risk management and law. The term of the Fellow position is for 12 months, with a salary of $95,000-115,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits are included. Fellows must be passionate about law and technology, motivated, conscientious, and reliable. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Conduct legal research and writing in support of various client engagements focused on AI, to include machine learning, model risk management, and de-identification strategies; 
  • Stay current on numerous AI laws and regulations as they are proposed and/or implemented; 
  • Draft alerts and updates for clients across a range of sectors; 
  • Other legal and technical analysis in support of client needs 

Qualifications:

  • J.D. as of May 2024 or earlier
  • Educational or experiential knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, and/or Generative AI (highly desired)
  • Knowledge of privacy, security, or data governance laws, regulations and best practices (highly desired)
  • Strong research, writing, and analysis skills to apply existing law to new situations and contexts
  • Fellows with coding skills who wish to spend a portion of their time supporting the technical team may be given the opportunity to do so.

Screening interviews will be conducted remotely, and applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Candidates must have graduated law school by May 2024, and be eligible for no later than an August start date (earlier is possible, where applicable).  This is a remote position, but candidates who are located in or are willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area may be given preference.
